The new Transvideo HD8 X-sbl is now available:

It features their new and improved AR coating, which also will be implemented into the HD6 X-sbl soon.

Also available is the new external wireless level sensor from Transvideo

plus the monitor still works with the Betz-Tools external level sensor, in case you already own one...

I've been using the HD6 E-sbl for 6 months now, before i was using Cinetronic Gen1 and Gen2 (don't ask). There is absolutely no downside to the form-factor. Being on top actually makes the image easier to see, since it does not get covered by the monitor bracket that easily. You can put the level display in the lower part against black. The weight at 3.2lbs dynamically balances nicely with the 2 Donic HC in the back. I'm using it with a cam-jam yoke. my 2 cents....

NIts (brightness) rating of the backlight is just 1 factor of the visibility, optical bonding and AR coating are very important too. those monitors are in the top of their class and plenty bright...and visible.

What makes these monitors special in my opinion is:

engineering

build quality

professional features like:

3 sets of frameslines

level sensor, Int/ext

inputs and signal compatibility

customer service

Jens,

Took your advice on this a few months ago and have been loving the 6" X-SBL. Great visibility outdoors and good tools/features. The only bad thing so far is that when wearing polarized sunglasses there are times when the monitor goes completely black...obviously a refraction between the glasses and/or monitor coating. It happens very rarely but when it does its typically when operating in unusual positions. The easy fix was simply changing to non-polarized glasses. Just a thought considering this problem was irrelevant when using monitors like the TB-6. But like I said I love the transvideo monitor.
