Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted September 27, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 27, 2014 The new Transvideo HD8 X-sbl is now available: http://www.transvideo.eu/store/CineMonitorHD8-X-SBL-Evolution It features their new and improved AR coating, which also will be implemented into the HD6 X-sbl soon. Also available is the new external wireless level sensor from Transvideo http://www.transvideo.eu/VirtualHorizon3 plus the monitor still works with the Betz-Tools external level sensor, in case you already own one... Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted September 27, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 27, 2014 Because the lower part is being used for the waveform, lens data display and so on... the top 16/9 part is for the image..http://www.transvideo.eu/LensReader If you don't like that, they have the 16/9 Rainbow HD Sbl for you. Premium Members quincy paglaro Posted September 27, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 27, 2014 900 nits. Not quite there yet. It is a shame cuz I'm a big fan of transvideo
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted September 27, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 27, 2014 I've been using the HD6 E-sbl for 6 months now, before i was using Cinetronic Gen1 and Gen2 (don't ask). There is absolutely no downside to the form-factor. Being on top actually makes the image easier to see, since it does not get covered by the monitor bracket that easily. You can put the level display in the lower part against black. The weight at 3.2lbs dynamically balances nicely with the 2 Donic HC in the back. I'm using it with a cam-jam yoke. my 2 cents....
Premium Members flemming laybourn Posted September 28, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 28, 2014 Hands down there is no monitor out there that is even close to Transvideo on all parameters. Had mine for years, and like my Preston Focus, its the best pieces of equipment I have ever purchased...period. looking forward to test the new one..!
Premium Members Walter F. Rodriguez Posted September 28, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 28, 2014 What is the native resolution of the screen?
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted September 28, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 28, 2014 It is 960 x 540 for the "image section" of the screen, which is exactly half of 1920x1080. This makes it easier to deal with motion blur and fast moving images. http://www.transvideo.eu/Steadicam-monitors/Compare

Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted September 29, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 29, 2014 NIts (brightness) rating of the backlight is just 1 factor of the visibility, optical bonding and AR coating are very important too. those monitors are in the top of their class and plenty bright...and visible. What makes these monitors special in my opinion is: engineering build quality professional features like: 3 sets of frameslines level sensor, Int/ext inputs and signal compatibility customer service
Jordan Keslow
Jens, Took your advice on this a few months ago and have been loving the 6" X-SBL. Great visibility outdoors and good tools/features. The only bad thing so far is that when wearing polarized sunglasses there are times when the monitor goes completely black...obviously a refraction between the glasses and/or monitor coating. It happens very rarely but when it does its typically when operating in unusual positions. The easy fix was simply changing to non-polarized glasses. Just a thought considering this problem was irrelevant when using monitors like the TB-6. But like I said I love the transvideo monitor. Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted October 3, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted October 3, 2014 That is with every LCD monitor and has to do with a built-in polarization filter in the matrix stack.....not transvideo specific...http://www.russbellew.com/pages/lcd_technology.aspx
Premium Members Andrew Jansen Posted November 2, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 2, 2014 Transvideo simply is the best monitor for Steadicam in my opinion.. From my first one 15 years ago to all the units i have now, all are rock solid...
