This year the tightening screw thead got worn. I was on a job and bought a new Donkey Box to finish the job. Meanwhile I had the donkey box fixed and I'm selling it now. 1500$ PS I'm also selling a PRO I post for those who want to make their own rig. Premium Members Rob Vuona SOC Posted November 6, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 6, 2014 Anyone who owns an EFP should jump on this sale if they haven't already upgraded their top stage JM2C
Premium Members Denis-Noel Mostert Posted November 6, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 6, 2014 Ok DB I, DB II, DB III The DB I'm selling is in reality just the Donkey Box with no number. It is the first version made by George Paddock and is labeled ''Donkey Box''. Sorry for my mistake. I should not have called it DB I. But it is not a DB II. The DB II is a newer version made by PRO now and is just a little different but have the same mechanism. Denis
Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted November 6, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 6, 2014 You photo is of a D-box2 not a D-box1which used large brass gibs not the linear barings of the D-box 2. I've owned at least one of each one PRO built. The current D-box 2 is an update of the original D-box2. Maybe we should call the new one the D-Box2S
Premium Members Tommy Stork Posted November 6, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 6, 2014 Denis, you definitely have an original DBII. The current, updated from the original, PRO DBII offering was brought back into circulation with the advent of the CineLive electronics and Gen IV battery rack about 2 years ago. This is a great price for a historically solid and virtually bulletproof piece of gear.

Premium Members Denis-Noel Mostert Posted November 9, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 9, 2014 The DB whatever is sold. Thanks to all of you. Now I'll write an history book on Donkey Boxes. You are probably right Eric with this issue and I thank you for your good comments. I do not have all the littérature on what I bought in 1995 so I can't tell how they called it at that time because it's only written ''D-BOX'' on it. I also have the new DB II and the DB III and find the III a better option.
Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted November 10, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 10, 2014 Thank god the DBOX 2 is sold, now we won't have to keep having you trying to correct those of us that have USED DBOX 1's. And please don't write a history of D-boxes, you don't know it.....
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted November 10, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 10, 2014 I think everyone needs to stop acting like D-Boxes, right now.
