Premium Members Frank Born Posted December 29, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 29, 2014 @Tom: Nice find, thanks! Yes, I think that's the one. Interesting price. You know by any chance if the missing nut is metric? @Andrew: Thank you - but I'm after a used vest only. ;-) @Anyone else: Noone around with a beat-up old vest in the closet? Premium Members Tom Wills Posted December 29, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 29, 2014 Doubtful. Should be SAE, but you never know. Certainly wouldn't be anything you couldn't get from a hardware store. I'd recommend a Nylock (or sometimes labeled just Nylon Locking) nut to replace the missing one - less chance of it falling off again in the future.
Premium Members Mark Schlicher Posted December 30, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 30, 2014 Keep in mind that the eBay vest is the "compact" vest. I don't know how large you can be and still fit the compact vest, but I am 5"7', average/slight build, and the "standard" Flyer vest was a little too big to fit me well. The compact vest was a better fit for me.
Premium Members Frank Born Posted December 30, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 30, 2014 @Mark: Good save - I didn't realize that. :-) I was looking for the standard size as my Pilot vest is still a tad short. It works fine, but I guess I could do better with another 2 inches in height. I was under the impression the Flyer vest family allows for a little bit more extension, am I wrong with that?
