Premium Members daniel hanit Posted February 2, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 2, 2015 You can lose about 2 pounds of weight by eliminating the need for camera plate by using a 5$ solution, a washer that goes into the back of the camera, where the plate locks, and than putting the screw into it through your Steadicam plate and tightening it to the camera. Here's the part number from Tiffen: 1/4-20 Threaded Washer PART # 601-7411 $ 4.95 per washer USD If your plate isn't long enough you can order a long plate from Peter Abraham, but my archer plate was long enough. Hope that helps...
Premium Members Rob Vuona SOC Posted February 2, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 2, 2015 What camera are you talking about?
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted February 2, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 2, 2015 It works with Alexas and all ENG style cameras. This is what he is talking about. Chris Fawcett made a video about it. It works really well with Peter Abraham's long plate https://www.facebook.com/pages/Zalex-Steadicam-Accessories/310232185844803

Premium Members John Perry SOC Posted February 3, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 3, 2015 Yes the sony 1500 and 2500 have the 1/4-20 screw hole. I use them with the cam-jams
Premium Members daniel hanit Posted February 3, 2015 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 3, 2015 John, I also own a Cam-Jam, but now since using the washer I can even lose the 350 grams that it weighs...
Premium Members Colin Donahue Posted February 4, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 4, 2015 I bought the long plate from Peter Abraham last week. Got rid of the Sony plate. It is nice to lose a weight and lower the camera a bit. Very rigid and really long! Here is a pic Colin Donahue
Premium Members Rob Vuona SOC Posted February 4, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 4, 2015 I'm in . . . . =) Colin, does the lower profile distance to the bottom of the lens from the plate hinder the attaching the the fuji adapter cable? Is there enough room to plug it in?
Premium Members Colin Donahue Posted February 4, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 4, 2015 There is room, but i may have attached the cable first and then mounted the lens Colin
