Lightweight receiver for Bolt PRO 2000

Just a quick update. There has been some progress in developing this solution. While still not 100% confirmed, our mechanical engineers have moved forward with designing and printing up some SLA's for concept. So far, the general consensus of your inputs have been included, so thanks again for the feedback. It's still a matter of making sure the electronics will fit, perform as expected and navigating the chip design.

Again, please feel free to reach out to me. Any feedback with this I can still throw in, but also on any other Teradek related questions.

On a last note worth mentioning in here, we had a last minute special for the July 4th weekend. In case any of you were in the market for a 2000 Dual Input, you get a free SmallHD AC7 OLED SDI. Don't want to seem too pitchy, so here's the link with more info if you're interested. I'll be on my email all weekend, so please reach out.

And most of all, enjoy the independence weekend everybody!

To all,

I’m pleased to inform you that Teradek will release a lightweight receiver for Bolt that we’ve developed based on much of your feedback in this thread and with those who have reached out to me directly. We will be announcing this at the IBC tradeshow in the upcoming days.

I want to make sure Steadicam Forum has the first glimpse and detail of what we are calling the Bolt Sidekick. As a thank you to the forum, I will be organizing an exclusive pre-order window for Steadicam Forum members in the upcoming weeks. You will have access before the general public. And yes, I am absolutely trying to work in a sweet SmallHD bundle for you!

Please feel free to post/send me any preliminary questions either in this thread or to me directly. Though I will be getting on a plane today Amsterdam-bound for IBC at 1:45pm PST, I’ll be available to respond once I land. I just wanted to get this info to you as soon as I was able to get confirmation.

To me, this product means a lot - still after 3+ years at Teradek, I’m proud to know I am working for a company that will listen to its customers, value feedback (including mine) and industry standards.

The day has come!

As promised, Steadicam Forum members will have the first opportunity to pre-order the new Bolt Sidekick - a lightweight universal companion receiver for all current generation Bolt 300/600/2000 systems.

And, as an extra token of our appreciation, we’ve worked together with the SmallHD team to get you guys a sweet deal on a monitor to go-along. With a pre-order of any Bolt Sidekick (SDI or HDMI) and verification of a previously-owned Bolt transmitter, members will receive 20% off SmallHD’s AC7 OLED SDI monitor. No quantity limit. Discount also applies to the AC7’s Anton Bauer plate and monitor hood. You will receive a coupon code once your order is placed for your Bolt Sidekick.

Please use the following link to pre-order your Bolt Sidekick:

Also, note that AB/V Dual Battery adapters ARE available and you can find them under the Accessories/Power Options tab. Just select the Type as Sidekick Rx. Bolt Sidekick units will start shipping mid-October.

As a courtesy, I would like to let you know that our next set of pre-orders will go to our entire client base of current gen. Bolt owners. While that might include many of you on this thread, you can go to the top of the fulfillment list by ordering before the next wave. The next pre-order wave will most likely occur October 6th while public availability will be around October 13th.

Please feel free to follow-up with any questions here or directly.

Thanks,

Andrew

Just wanted to give you all a heads up, for those who pre ordered your Sidekick receivers they'll be making their way to you soon, some even in the next few days.

To make sure they operate correctly, please make sure to upgrade your Bolt transmitters and receivers to the latest firmware. You can get the most up to date Bolt Manager here: http://teradek.com/pages/downloads#bolt

Cheers and hope you enjoy your new addition to your Bolt family!! Also have an awesome Halloween.

I'm designing a director's monitor setup for Bolt Sidekick/SmallHD 702. If anyone is near the Culver City area, and could lend me their kit for a short time, I could hook you up with a prototype at my cost.

I have both but I am in New York.

Looking forward to seeing this new accessory Alan.
