Premium Members Rich Cottrell Posted September 24, 2005 Premium Members Report Posted September 24, 2005 Used MK-V topstage for sale with one dovetail plate I am looking to sell a used MK-V topstage. I bought it used from an operator in Canada, but I have never used it for what I bought it for [modifying my CP Model 2 to have a X/Y topstage] I am about to finally get off my ass and buy a new sled so I think it is time to get rid of this baby. I am selling it with same geared dovetail plate I bought it with. It is a long geared dovetail with the nodes for attaching iris rods. I am looking to get $850 for both dovetail and the MK-V topstage. I have pictures I can e-mail off the forum. Also email me off the forum with any questions or call my cell phone. rich cottrell cell 267-566-0972

Premium Members Rich Cottrell Posted September 26, 2005 Author Premium Members Report Posted September 26, 2005 here are my last 2 pics. I have been getting a bunch of e-mail so here is some more info: The centers for the four mounting holes on the topstage are 3/4inch apart. This topstage has some wear but it is 100% functional. The scratches you will see in the pictures were caused by the mounting screws rubbing when the side to side was originally used when the topstage was new. This topstage is in the same shape as when i bought it because i have never used it myself. When I asked the operator who i bought the topstage from about these marks he told me: "Yes I countersunk the holes a little deeper to allow the stage to ride better....Unfortunately this is also a problem on the original model 3 topstage due to the metal on metal design. Its only with donkey boxes and the real primo topstages that you get bearings and roller surfaces to take that contact point." I bought the topstage to modify my Model2 steadicam so it would have X/Y on top. I also figured i could use it if I were to build a sled ala' frankenstein. I just never got around to the machine shop and now I am thinking about buying a complete new sled. any more questions, just give me an e-mail. rich
