Alexander Pauckner
Hi, I will be shooting a dokumentary in China. Because of finanziall issues I will not be able to bring my own rig. The producer wants me to use an "glidecam x-20". I haven`t used this rig before, but it doesn`t look very professional to me. Especially the monitor "bracket" looks to be a problem, since I want to be able to switch quickly between high- and lowmode, and it does not seem to be possible to turn the Monitor quickly. Also the gimbal seems realy small, after normaly using a 1.8" gimbal. I would love to use a artemis EFP or a steadicam archer, but the total cameraweight will be about 5 kg, so a small rig would also do. I do not have any experience with lightweight rigs. Any suggestions what rig I should ask for, and where we could order it? We will be shooting near Bejing. , Thanks, Alex
Premium Members James Puli Posted February 18, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 18, 2015 Salon Films is the Panavision rep company in China (or at least Hong Kong, but I think they have a Beijing office) and from memory they have a couple Of Steadicams available. They'd be your best bet to get started with.
