John Hatcher
Has anyone found good way to mount the Shogun low on the sled either directly on and perpendicular to the center post, or off the monitor rods? It just gets cumbersome up top by camera and everything I usually have going on up there with cables, motors and what not.
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 21, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 21, 2015 Alan Rencher at Mediablackout.com has a great mount
John Hatcher
Well he has that intersex plate, but I'm trying to find something rod mounted or post mounted that will get it closer to my Ultra Bright main monitor.... Something similar to this http://www.amazon.com/Midland-Handle-Action-Cameras-XTA102/dp/B0043UO234 Just not sure that Midland mount is strong enough... Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 22, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 22, 2015 Have a look at smallrig.com maybe then?
John Hatcher
Yes, smallrig does have a 15mm offset 1/4 20 that might do it. Would still really love a post mount of some sort though... Will see if anyone else has a secret. Thanks Victor!
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 22, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 22, 2015 XCS has post clamps of all sizes. you might be able to build something out of the 3 brands.
John Hatcher
Oh true! Yes, I'll give the XCS clamps a looksee! Gracias!
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted March 22, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 22, 2015 Take a look at berkeysystem.com, their rod blocks can mount to the intersex plate. I can post a photo tomorrow.
Premium Members Alfeo Dixon SOC Posted March 23, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 23, 2015 Ultra 2 monitor rods are not the same spacing as normal 15mm lightweight rods. not sure if they are even 15mm Tiffen makes weight mounts that you could try and they also have a return monitor mount that is made to work on the monitor rods. John Hatcher
I'll check that out Alan. I know small rig has a rod offset 1/4 inch clamp, but it's 15 mm and those monitor rods are a little bigger... You're right Alfeo, the spacing is different and Tiffen does have a block that will fit, but that's too expensive for me just for the shogun. Premium Members Marco Dardari Posted April 1, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 1, 2015 Ultra2/Clipper monitor roads are 16 mm
Premium Members Jerry Holway Posted April 1, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 1, 2015 No, they are not 16mm. Tiffen makes a simple and inexpensive mounting system that goes on the rods. Call them!

Premium Members Alfeo Dixon SOC Posted May 5, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 5, 2015 This is the bracket I referenced from Tiffen
DH Min
Any luck on Frankensteining a solution? And I can confirm that the Clipper monitor rods are 16mm and I think the spacing just might be a bit over 100mm. At this I'm banging my head against the wall to figure this out as I want to attach a Shogun Flame to my Clipper24 rig.
