Hi;

I don't know much (like nothing) about this so if this is off the wall I'm prepared.

Why not put the monitor where the batteries are and vice versa?

I saw a newbie who set up the Steadicam "wrong"' do this and it was a new one on me.

At the time it just seemed funny now maybe it works for a new idea?

Yes I read about monitor on the gimbal but it didn't really make sense (too heavy, too close to op, and cables, not lined up with the shot all the time so pans backward) so I'll have to investigate and figure out how it works

Thanks for the effort at clarification.

I just don't get the details right now

It maybe can work on some other rigs? The way Curt explained it to me was that for rigidity and keeping everything exactly centered one has to bolt this directly to the top of the post, bypassing the x/y stage. So the Dbox (or Betz or whatever) would have to go at the bottom. I think he said he did this on his sled by turning it upside down.

Of course I was less than sober and surfing Tinder during this explanation so I hope I got it straight.

It just cannot work on an x/y stage...he said it will have to bolt onto the top of the post in place of the top stage (so possibly not tiffen sleds?). The weights he worked out on the bottom were really simple and cool
