Premium Members Andre Perron SOC Posted June 7, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 7, 2015 I tried it and I love the new possibilities! Anyone who can go to the Stabilizer Gear Expo tomorrow should give it a try...
Premium Members Thomas English Posted June 7, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 7, 2015 Can you see the monitor through all the angles? whats the handset controller for?
Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted June 7, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 7, 2015 It's a little joystick for tilt controll. They also have a little monitor mounted on the gimbal handle because you can't see your regular monitor most of the time.
Moderators Janice Arthur Posted June 7, 2015 Moderators Report Share Posted June 7, 2015 Hi; Â I don't know much (like nothing) about this so if this is off the wall I'm prepared. Â Why not put the monitor where the batteries are and vice versa? Â I saw a newbie who set up the Steadicam "wrong"' do this and it was a new one on me. Â At the time it just seemed funny now maybe it works for a new idea? Â Janice
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted June 7, 2015 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 7, 2015 there's a Transvideo StarlightHD mounted to the Gimbal handle, so that at all times you can see the image....
Premium Members Michael Hauer Posted June 7, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 7, 2015 Will the product work with all rigs?
Moderators Janice Arthur Posted June 7, 2015 Moderators Report Share Posted June 7, 2015 Yes I read about monitor on the gimbal but it didn't really make sense (too heavy, too close to op, and cables, not lined up with the shot all the time so pans backward) so I'll have to investigate and figure out how it works  Thanks for the effort at clarification.  I just don't get the details right now  Janice
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted June 7, 2015 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 7, 2015 Will the product work with all rigs? no, it's intended to work with the Artemis Rig to my knowledge
Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted June 8, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 8, 2015 It maybe can work on some other rigs? The way Curt explained it to me was that for rigidity and keeping everything exactly centered one has to bolt this directly to the top of the post, bypassing the x/y stage. So the Dbox (or Betz or whatever) would have to go at the bottom. I think he said he did this on his sled by turning it upside down. Â Of course I was less than sober and surfing Tinder during this explanation so I hope I got it straight.
Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted June 8, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 8, 2015 I believe he said it would be able to work on other rigs. It's self contained so don't see any reason it couldn't be made to work on others.
Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted June 8, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 8, 2015 It just cannot work on an x/y stage...he said it will have to bolt onto the top of the post in place of the top stage (so possibly not tiffen sleds?). The weights he worked out on the bottom were really simple and cool
