Premium Members SergeiFranklin Posted July 2, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 2, 2015 I spoke with Patti from Camera Essentials last week. If 20 of us commit to purchasing a rain cover for the Cinetronic Gen 2 monitor she can make them. It would have to accommodate the largest setup which I guess is the the http://cam-jam.de/qma.htmlwith a Dionic HC attached. They would look like http://www.transvideo.eu/store/Raincovers Leave a note if you are committed to purchasing one and email her info@cameraessentials.com I didn’t discuss price but based the Transvideo ones I guess they will be under $
Richard James Lewis
I think you'd be hard pushed to find 20 people who still own a Cinetronic...
Richard James Lewis
That aside, the Cinetronic was fairly waterproof. I don't even use covers on my Transvideo now, just a bit of tape over the buttons.
Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted July 3, 2015 Moderators Report Share Posted July 3, 2015 Guys, let's keep on topic please. While the monitor is pretty weather resistant, I'd still like to have a proper cover. Thank you.
Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted July 3, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 3, 2015 1 gallon ziplock baggie should fit over the monitor with a battery on it
Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted July 4, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 4, 2015 Aside from the great daylight view-ability, size and on-screen level with external sensor, it's weather proof design is what still make this monitor desirable. I concur with Ron's cost effective suggestion if one really wants additional protection.
Premium Members William Demeritt Posted July 5, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 5, 2015 I carry a roll of Saran wrap in my kit, makes for great rain covers on the go. Anything you need to protect from water, just layer it. For the monitor, I usually wrap the screen once and pin it in the back.
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted July 6, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 6, 2015 I'm in complete agreement with William. When fancy covers get wet, you have to dry the buggers out. With clingfilm, as we Eurps call it, you just rip it off and toss it into the North Pacific Gyre when you're done with it. Chris
Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted July 6, 2015 Moderators Report Share Posted July 6, 2015 Yup, been carrying Saran wrap for years and its what I currently have for that monitor. The one gallon bag is not wide enough with the yoke in place (unless I tried the one size below by accident).
