justin youens
I've just moved to an ultra 2 from a pro. Long story. Been trying to dynamic balance all morning when I discovered centering the gimbal. I've messed around for an hour with the blue whale since and cannot get it centred. Ant tricks tips? Premium Members Jerry Holway Posted July 28, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 28, 2015 Start with sled aimed at handle, balance vertical fore and aft carefully, side to side close. Rotate sled 90 degrees, with fore aft aimed along the ends of the fork. Do not change the sled balance. If the sled is now off level, use the blue whale tool to move the weight (the whole sled) "uphill" to make the sled hang vertical.

Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted July 28, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 28, 2015 Make sure you turn both screws on each side by the same number of turns (or rather quarter turns) so that the spacing stays the same between them while displacing the CG of the sled. Also the longer your drop time is, the more accurate you will be able to get in your adjustment, so give it a good 4+ sec of drop.
justin youens
Thanks for the responses. I have the manual pages that you kindly attached but I don't see any movement when I turn the caps. Or any change in balance. I have taken them off even and was wondering if larger adjustments could be made with Allan screws inside? Also "uphill" doesn't mean much to me. It sounds obvious. I guess you mean in whatever direction its tilting away from. I'm going to try again this morning. Thanks.

Premium Members Jerry Holway Posted July 31, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 31, 2015 If you are still having problems, post a pix or video. Might help us understand.
Premium Members Sanjay Sami Posted August 1, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 1, 2015 Justin, post a picture of what bearing you are adjusting. Do this before going further. You must move the bearing alomg in one or the other direction. If you are tightening in both directions you may damage the Gimbal. If you are doing it right there should be a marked difference in the way the sled hangs.
