Philippe Bordelais Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 SledX Dear colleagues, I want to introduce the latest Abracam product, the SledX™. The SledX™ is a prototype of a gyro-stabilized handle designed to control brushless gimbals. More information and video here For those who will go to IBC, I’ll be there for some demonstrations. Thanks for your attention Philippe Quote

Premium Members James Davis Posted September 10, 2015 Premium Members Report Posted September 10, 2015 Hello Philippe, Have you tested this using "mimic mode" to drive a MOVI M15? It would be amazing for that, Curious to hear your thoughts. James Quote

Premium Members Kareem La Vaullee Posted September 10, 2015 Premium Members Report Posted September 10, 2015 Hello Philippe, Have you tested this using "mimic mode" to drive a MOVI M15? It would be amazing for that, Curious to hear your thoughts. James Hi James, I spoke with Philippe over the phone this afternoon and I know he is super busy, he received a big order for his Clip-one and he is making them while also preparing for the IBC, he have seen the messages here and told me I could reply on his behalf as your question is exactly the one I asked the second time I tested the SledX. So that's what we did, we put the MIMIC sensor on the SledX and controlled a MoVI M15 this way, just to see what would happen. It did work, it was a very interesting experience, but the MIMIC has quite a lot of latency and it can drift, because of the technology it uses The SledX is intended to control a Gyro-Stabilized remote head, such as Brushless Gimbals (MoVI, RONIN), with almost no latency and zero drifting. with a completely different technology compared to the MIMIC. But I can't say much more about that. But don't hesitate to ask more questions to Philippe here, he will be able to give you answers soon enough. What I can say is that the SledX is a little marvel, it's impressive how it can manage to actively and perfectly stabilize itself and at the same time understand your gentle controls over its Central Post. As you test it out you understand that a lot of care have been put into making sure how natural its feeling is. Philippe will have the SledX prototype with him at IBC! K. Quote
