SmallHD 702 monitor

I currently have a battery back for the smallHD 702 in the works. It can be set up with anton bauer or v-lock batteries.

The battery can be adjusted side to side so you can really have the battery centered behind the monitor. V-lock batts have very different shapes.

Also a Bolt receiver can be stacked between my battery plate and the monitor.

And it has mounting points on the side that meet closely the center of gravity of the whole package. So this monitor will fit nicely in my Quattro monitor arm with yoke. http://cam-jam.de/qma.html

Fits also well to my handgrip system that Alec mentioned before. http://cam-jam.de/directorsmonitor.html

Will post pictures, soon when battery back is ready.

Here is a start. Some specifically machined parts that really increase how robust the 702/Wooden camera set-up is.

Thanks for the recommend, Jeff. I'm starting another production run for Brooks this week, so if anyone else is interested, let me know. It's looking good to get a batch price of $175 each. I'm around if anyone has any questions.

Thanks for the recommendation Jeff. I'm going to go with Nicholas's 702 modification for the Wooden Camera bracket mentioned above. It seems to fix the issues inherent in the WC design (it attaches to the monitor by three points instead of one, and the arms are one piece with no pivot points). Thanks to everyone who chimed in with ideas!

I received the parts from Nick for his modification to the Wooden Camera 702 bracket the other day and wanted to follow up with some information and photos so anybody thinking about going this route could see what it looks like built. Everything was safely and professionally packaged, and each piece arrived in its own ziplock bag. The directions were easy to follow (even for me), and within minutes I had the monitor built. Nick's new additions anchor to the bottom (as the Wooden Camera bracket did), but also anchor to both sides so there isn't any play. All three attachment points use two small pins in addition to the provided screw to keep the bracket from pivoting or rotating. The new wings are solid and don't allow the bracket to pivot at all, which was (for me) a huge flaw in the original design. My two (unmodified) Wooden Camera brackets lasted four weeks on a difficult show before they gave out. That won't happen with Nick's new parts. He has made a really solid modification for the Wooden Camera 702 bracket that is built to last, and I can't imagine owning a 702 directors monitor without using his modification.
