Any Advice for hiding my rig?

Adrian;

This, in my opinion, is a bad/dangerous topic to even consider.

To even think of trying to hide something in a crowd is wrong and personally dangerous to you and maybe dangerous to security people.

Security people distracted to decide if you are a problem may distract them from true bad guys.

Think long and hard before you proceed and I would always disclose first.

I even considered deleting this topic for its implications but for now it's here for input.

Hide the sled inside a manikin that looks like Ron Baldwin. Use the arm to hold the "Ron-ikin" up. Throw faux Ron's arm over your shoulder so it looks like you are carrying him. Tell security that he is too drunk to walk by himself. Once they recognize Ron, they will not doubt your story.

Jim Bartell hit the nail on the head !

But in all seriousness, given the hair trigger response of the Police in the US, you may not have good outcome wandering the streets in an oversize coat that obviously (and very badly) conceals something.

I'd avoid it for sure.

What you haven't explained is what you hope to achieve by doing this ? There maybe better solutions that do not involve steadicam.

I'm going to take a guess based on your previous posts about the "S40" that you are working with a smaller hand held rig? If so then I'd recommend the Merlin to accomplish the task. I've gotten away with walking around the entire park at Disneyland with one and found that no one really pays any attention to DSLRs these days.

If this is not the case, please disregard.
