By now some of you may have heard about a stuntwomen on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter who drove into a 'camera arm' that failed to move out of the way. She's losing her arm because of it. Not much info on the details but wondering if anyone knows anything beyond camera arm as that's all that keeps getting repeated. Crane, Ultimate Arm, etc. -lots of arms out there.

im "Down here", in South Africa. I work with some people who were on the tracking vehicle the night it happened. It was a techno 30 on a tracking vehicle, (I could stand to be corrected).

It was just a rehearsal. It was pouring with rain, and the stunt lady apparently did not want to do the rehearsal, but it happened anyway.

This accident happened not because of the fault of a grip, operator, or driver.. this happened because it never should have in the first place.

Thanks for shedding some light on this. Love to hear more about it if more info comes to you.

We all need to evaluate and be very aware of where we are at any given moment on set (especially during stunts or big fx...but always) because even a normal day can turn sour when surrounded by all that power...hanging lights/props/grip and camera equip...cobbled together sets...firearms/explosives etc. We've all had close calls we were lucky to walk away from. Just keep your eyes open and voice every concern. It's the fucking circus, not life and death -- too bad it now seems the latter as greedy assholes bragging about record profits continually cut budgets and schedules for a few more bucks (might not have been the case here but seems to be the norm).Very sorry to hear about this.

Let's hope we all make it to ripe old ages with all our digits, hearing, and eyesight in tact.

Thinking about the unbelievable situation in Flint, Michigan. To save a few thousand -a few thousand bucks! they switched the public drinking water source. The public is outraged and shocked, as they should be, at the poor lack of judgment, total disregard for human safety and greed but we know this mentality all too well don't we? The public works officials/Governor are getting crucified in the press....and then there's our version who sometimes get a bonus at wrap and then another gig.
