Steadicam Pilot advise

Hi,

I´m planning to buy a Steadicam Pilot to run mostly my FS700 and sometimes our Sony PMW F3 (only camera + lens). What do you think about this? I´m looking for this offer in ebay:

Thanks for all!

That's a Pilot rig without vest, arm and batteries. Only good of you already own the parts from an extended Merlin set and you have V- Mount batteries available.

A complete set is more in this range: http://www.ebay.es/itm/Steadicam-Pilot-AB-Camera-Stabilization-System-/360440929427?hash=item53ebf41c93:m:mvjHbRjuHjPQ4qp3h5E4vMA (AB Batteries, couldn't find V)

Best, Frank

I would personally be scared to buy such expensive thing on Ebay. I would either go new or see go to see the thing in person if you really want it used.

See the Pilot options at B&H to get an idea of the price range. and remember, if it looks too good to be real, it's probably not real

You should be able to fly a FS700 or F3. For the FS700 / 7Q you could use the 7Q as the monitor but you would be pushing the weight limit of the arm. Also I don't thing the FS700 can send a SD and an HD signal at the same time. So if thats the case the 7Q would work as the sled monitor at the base. The pilot may not be able to send a HD signal down the post so you might need to have an external BNC to the 7Q at the bottom. Now the 7Q is a very reflective monitor and you will have a very hard time seeing an image when outside with it.
