Marcin Majerski
Hi, Anyone test a DJI Fallow Focus? Someone can compare a DJI Focus with Bartech? The price tell that Bartech is better but why? DJI Focus is new one... DJI Focus Bartech FF
Sam Law
My analogue bartech is serial number 95. I purchased it used about 2 years ago on the forum. It was from the first year bartechs were being made 1997. Not only does it still work flawlessly, but it has held its value pretty remarkably. Mr Bartell's engineering, and just as importantly customer service are incredible. Having not used the DJI, I can't speak for it personally, but based on their other products I doubt this follow focus will stand the test of time at a professional level the way a Bartech does.
Marcin Majerski
Thanks for reply. Its good reason for Bartech 1:0 "will stand the test of time" But what about functionality- Motor speed, accuracy, delay and power motor with old lenses? I hear that Bartech has one type unlucky motor-some one know which one? Edited January 24, 2016 by Marcin Majerski
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted January 24, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 24, 2016 I have a Bartech Analogue with M-one motor (great motor but bad service). I would stir away from Dji, if your gear breaks you're on your own. Look into a digital Bartech or Axis one maybe.
Premium Members Gus Trivino Posted January 24, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 24, 2016 Hi Marcin I own 3 BFD. The first one bought in 2004. The last one in 2015. I live in Argentina, and everytime I had a problem with the BFD (usually because Focus Puller let drop the transmiter, broke antenas or burning some integrated for a wrong cable connection) Jim bartell answer was inmediatly, and after 48 hours all spare parts were here in Argentina, below of the world. The costumer service is amazing. Just my experience. Besto to all, Gus
Marcin Majerski
Thanks guys! I will trust Yours experience and i chose a Bartech. 1. "will stand test of time" 2. Amazing service but DJI is a prototype and i price speaks for itself - better user Bartech analog (around 3000$) as newer digital DJI Focus(2000$). Anyone test a red digital motor?: http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=23348&hl=bartech
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted February 13, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 13, 2016 Just a quick note about the DJI follow focus - it has no remote start feature; that is, you cannot remotely start/stop a camera with the handset.
Premium Members Sanjay Sami Posted February 14, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 14, 2016 If the Bartech is just 1000$ more, its a no-brainer. I have never owned a Bartech, but in many years of seeing them on set and judging by the experience that everyone else has, I would say definitely go for the Bartech. Premium Members JamieSilverstein Posted February 15, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 15, 2016 In a market (NYC) where Preston is a must, I fought not to use it until completely necessary. I loved my Bartech system and the M-one motors. He's also a pretty good guy to have a beer with..... Just my 2¢
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted February 15, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 15, 2016 One important thing to remember when you shop for a wireless focus system. You will never use it, your 1ACs will. You need to make sure that they will know how to use it as fast and efficiently as possible. Bartech is straightforward, and everyone knows how to use it. DJI, not so much...
Premium Members Andrew Gough Posted April 19, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 19, 2016 Have a look at Cinegears, they have superb customer service. We have been using the high torque motor version for about a year, and its been flawless. The high torque motor is built in Germany BTW. I have no commercial association with them .
