Gyro Mounts

Does anybody know what the current options are for buying gyro mounts? PRO doesn't make them anymore and they've sold out of what they did. MK-V isn't communicating. I'm very specifically looking for a post mount for a KS 4x4, but dovetail and Anton Bauer mounts would be nice too.

Thanks!

Afton

I've seen those. The description says they're made for the 6x6 and 8x8 gyros, not the 4x4 although I have to imagine a 4x4 would mount or could be mounted fairly easily.

More importantly, however, the post mount is the one I feel is a necessity. The dovetail and battery mounts would be nice to have as options, just in case, but the majority of the time I use these will be mounted to my post. I don't want to add that much mass that far away from the gimbal, all on one side. The compensation for it on the other side would be too much.

Exactly, Unless you're going to remove your batteries and umbilical them, that much mass that far down lowers your gimbal so much, you're seriously compromising the usefulness of the gyros. As Afton knows (he has used my gyros on multiple occasions), I use (2) KS-4s and mount them to the post just below the gimbal in an "X" pattern. I have AB and dovetail mounts along with an umbilical battery bag, but don't really use them.

Hey Afton,

I have an MK-V sled, so I just change the base from the Nexus to the light weight rods. Its just 4 screws to swap the bottom electronics plate.

Guess this is only really helpful if you have an MK-V

Hey!

I have an MKV Sled, is this bracket with the 15mm bar attachment an MKV product or something Ken Labs Supplied?

Thanks

Hi All,

I had this custom mount made for my old K6 gyro's which clamp onto the 19mm bars inspired by Larry McConkey who recommended this design and now they make the x gyro's.

I'll be posting it for sale soon if anyone's interested.

It's all anodised now.
