Does the PRO CineALive have vibration problems?

Short answer -- yes, aluminum "transmits" vibration far more than carbon fiber. I have had a pro since '97 and have had occasional issues (as all owners of all sleds have). i am not familiar with the Betz top stage but I hear it is very nice. Take a long hard look at other accessories and check how solid they are. What monitor bracket are you using? How does the monitor attach to the bracket? What camera...mounting plates etc... Is there play in the batteries? I went through a lot of monitor brackets over the years...put the rig on the stud (can I say that here?) and lightly hit it with your fist in different spots and look what happens.

I'll second what Ron said, The same parts won't vibrate all the time, for instance, maybe your making a move and speed up all of a sudden and your steps are way harder than before and you see some vibration, or another example is your batteries on the plate, they may have the slightest play and it doesn't matter when making short moves, but if your quickly walking or even running during a shot, that small play will make it

s way to the camera, not immediately, but as a cumulative effect after a few seconds.... Not sure if I'm making sense in my description, but start by eliminating standard things like ( place the soft side of the velcro pair on the battery plates so that your batteries go on snug, then work your way up.....

Thanks for your replies. I don't own a Cine-Live, but understand the measures required to help best discover and eliminate the cause of the vibration, which for me in the past was the monitor bracket.

I was just wondering once all measures have been taken, and everything is locked down as best as it can, will the cine-live still vibrate purely because of the design, and how do you manage it when there is nothing more you can do and you have a running shot to complete?

I won the Cine Live and I have not had any vibrations so far, even with a 3D rig and double F55.

I have the Cam-Jam.de Quattro monitor bracket and this thing is super solid, no vibrations or flex on my DP7 even with a battery on it.

Now the only potential source of vibrations I see is the battery hanger Gen 4 it flexes a bit if you press hard but has not bothered me yet. You can also upgrade to a Gen 3 which is more solid.

I have no experience with the Betz stage, but I do like the design with rods vs PRO's diving board for the MDR.

The only vibration issues I've had with this rig were form a crappy lens mound adapter on a heavy lens without support, completely independent form the sled model.

Moving fast with long lenses, long camera setups and/or low mode will open up a can of worms...especially if one uses a dbox2. The 3 is so much better but still not immune to a bit of vibration. The camjam is petty solid. The best rig for sucking up the vibrations in an XCS Ultimate. I know many who use the XCS post on their pro's and have fewer issues that I might have with same top and bottom stage and stock post
