Tom Swiss
Why does the Steadicam Zephyr have 2 different ways of locking the monitor and battery posts? Each one has a separate lock, then on the opposite side, there is a master lock that locks both.
Premium Members David M. Aronson Posted March 29, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 29, 2016 I'd have to double check on mine, but I think the individual ones are limiting pins. They restrict the post's movement to a certain section and I believe also keep them from twisting.
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 30, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 30, 2016 Hi, the two knobs on one side are NOT to lock the monitor and battery post, the large knob on the other side will lock them both. The two knobs are actually the heads of pins holding the posts in place through the groove on each side of the two posts. To understand better, unscrew one of the small knobs completely you will be able to pull the knob away completely. You can then pull the two monitor and batt posts way further and reinsert the pin into the next groove. Hope that helps.
