Bruises on pelvis from artemis ACT2 vest

Hello,

 

I have a problem with this vest. After a shifts with medium to heavy payloads i have bruises on my pelvis bones.

I have tried different trousers and so on, but without any improvements.

As in my home country we have only two artemis rigs, i have no opportunities to try different vest, last time i tried other vests was on workshop more than a year ago, than i liked the feel of steadicam ultra2 and exovest, but that was workshop and i was not working in it for whole day.

 

Also wearing act2 i think the top front is to loose from my chest, and top back on heavier payloads is to high, even sometimes making small pressures on my neck.

 

Could this be the situation, when this vest is to big for me?

Hi Artur,

 

Your form looks good, but maybe you are wearing that vest a little high. I adjust my vests to sit deeper on my pelvis. As long as you can lift your leg so as to climb stairs, it's not too low. Give your bruises a little rest (if you can), then experiment with different settings.

 

Also, guard that you are not pushing your pelvis forward when you start walking. Your standing posture is good. Make sure it stays like that when you move.

Also- everybody's different.

 

A given vest that's great for you may not work at all for someone else, so ultimately, you need to find one that works for you.

 

Even then you may need to modify it, change padding, etc. to get the absolute best fit and feel - it's most important when carrying heavy loads.

 

I'd try slipping some additional thin foam of different densities on the hip pads if Chris's suggestions don't quite get you there.

Hey Artur,

 

In conjunction with moving the hip pads a little lower I would also try loosening off the shoulder straps a little bit and expanding the adjustable front spar a tiny bit until you are able to position the "Chest Straps" somewhere around the bottom of your rib cage, right now they are around halfway up your rib cage, which in my experience is not a very comfortable position.

That should make everything a bit more comfortable overall, i've found with front mount vests that let you have the option to adjust this section or are fitted to you perfectly in this area (Pro/Artemis) this makes the vest feel a little more responsive also.
