Premium Members Peter Kadar Posted August 29, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 29, 2016 This is absolutely amazing! Does anyone know who was the steadicam operator? And is that actually a steadicam shot at 1:50 or drone? Is it possible to go up the stairs that fast with steadicam? Amazing! Would be great to know more about it! bts? making of? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tuHIhXyxrI
Richard James Lewis
I'd imagine it's all techno and dolly.
Premium Members Michael Desiderio Posted August 30, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 30, 2016 I don't think there is any steadicam used in this commercial
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted August 30, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 30, 2016 I don't think there is any steadicam used in this commercial The stairs segment might have been steadicam (around 1:50). The real question is where is the camera is the mirrors? Did they delete the reflections digitally? That's a lot of reflections...
Premium Members Andrew Bradley Posted August 30, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 30, 2016 this all looked like motion control rigs to me, plus would make it easier for the removal of reflections. Spike Jonze i think likes painting things out:)
Premium Members Shawn Wang Posted August 31, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 31, 2016 Techno for sure.

Premium Members Charles Papert Posted September 5, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 5, 2016 Seems like the Technodolly would have been a likely tool--operate the shot with the actor then just have it repeat for the "clean" pass (of course you still have the arm and camera in there, so not exactly a picnic for the VFX guys regardless)! Definitely a fun clip to watch. I've always liked Spike Jonze' sensibility.
Premium Members Lars Erik Posted September 5, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 5, 2016 https://www.fxguide.com/quicktakes/best-perfume-spot-ever/ here's a link where you can read a little about the video. DP was Hoyte van Hoytema. On one of the photos you can see the technocrane.
