Thank you Rob
Premium Members nick franco Posted October 29, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 29, 2016 The clamp needs to stay on the top, otherwise you're not getting the benefit of the bearings. The inner race of the upper bearing sits slightly higher so the clamp can ride on it.
Robert Medina
Thanks Nick! That Is kinda what i was thinking. I did Get a reply from GPI and they said " That should not be an issue " " Ideally they would like to see the clamp where it was originally " I'll keep it where it was designed to be. :) Rob
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted October 30, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 30, 2016 Keep the clamp above, like that you can swap arm posts quickly. One thing you can do is replace the tightening screw with a kipp handle (McMaster Carr part number 6320K12) so when you put your arm on the stand the post doesn't pop out.
