Premium Members Kevin Jacobsen Posted December 2, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 2, 2016 I've used a cinegears, and that sometimes had issues connecting/syncing with the motor, and the mounting hardware can be a bit annoying (ie. tightening the thumbscrews so ridiculously tight to keep the motor from slipping.) but it's in that price range. It's lighter than others because the motors receiver is built-into the motor. I just picked up a Bartech, used, for your budget, in a fantastic working condition. Brenton Lee
I fried a DJI Focus motor first go. Was powering it straight from a Hypercore battery D-Tap, it worked a few times then made a sizzling noise and died. Absolutely not reason that should have happened. R.I.P little motor. Such a rip off.
Arseny sentiakov
Hey everybody! I have recently had to conduct a research on follow focus systems, their specifications and so on. I think many people, at least who is looking for a FF, will be interested. I’ve checked the most popular models, both wireless and wired, mechanical and electronic. I’ve done it myself so If you have any questions I will be ready to answer. links on reviews - proaim EF-PRO (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeTF2frxiM4) - KeyEasyFocus (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIHgG3fmEdY) - DJI Focus (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhE0ArjzJdI) - UniVice (https://vimeo.com/153903392) - Movcam (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_f5UyybK4c) - Camtree V2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Do_6mn3QXD4) and my comparison chart
James Lamberg
Bought mine last month to use on a feature. Motor died after 3 days so I sent it back to DJI for refund. They declined my refund because the hand unit had a scratch on the back of it. I disputed with customer service and they said they would re-evaluate and get back to me. Instead of getting back to me they decided to just send me the broken unit back. Infuriating customer service. STAY AWAY!!!

I have used DJI for several sets. It works well to me. One of friend told me he has seen a DJI motor fried on set as well.
Martijn Lembeck
I have worked with the Tilta Nucleus system a couple of times. The build is very good, the motor is strong and my AC loved it as well. I haven't had problems with it yet. https://tilta.com/shop/nucleus-m-wireless-follow-focus/
