Premium Members Matias Mesa Posted January 4, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 4, 2017 Hi Guys are there any situation with Speed rates and the Cinetronic not taking it? I just had a shoot and the Monitor would take the 23,997 from a Sony F55, maybe I didn't know how to set it up. Would the Decimator Help in any way? Thanks
Premium Members brooksrobinson Posted January 4, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 4, 2017 I could be wrong, but the main issue with the Cinetronic 2 was that it did not accept a PSF signal, which is what the Sony camera puts out. The Decimator would solve your viewing problem, though the signal you see on your screen would obviously be SD. Good luck and hopefully others will chime in. Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted January 6, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 6, 2017 Matias hope you are well. If you are using a Sony F55 with the S-Log recorder back you can get a p signal out of the test output on the recorder, but it will be in raw and have no camera setting info or record indicator. Otherwise you will need something like the Decimator MD-HX to cross convert the psf to p signal the camera puts out and you can view in HD. Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted January 6, 2017 Moderators Report Share Posted January 6, 2017 Matias, Hope you're well. This is the converter Doc is talking about. I leave mine on the sled all the time as it adds some nice mass to the monitor and I don't need a battery on the back. With the latest firmware, it also lets you flip the image if you need to. Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted January 8, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 8, 2017 Yes, image flip is helpful too. Just remembered the BNC on the AXS-R5 recorder is labelled AUX out.You may have to get into output settings in the camera menu too.

Premium Members Brad Olander Posted January 14, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 14, 2017 The Atomos Connects have a "Pull Down Removal" function, which seems to solve most of the Sony to Cinetronics problems. And they're pretty cheap now ($150 on B&H). The SDI>HDMI at the bottom of the sled, into the Cinetronics, has worked well and your still looking at an HD image. The HDMI>SDI version might be better for mounting on the camera. I have both versions as problem solvers. Alan Rencher made me a P-tap to FS700 (Sony NP type) cable that works well to power the Connect.
