I just recived an interesting article in my e-mail about a major impromvement to Li-Ion batteries.

It's called "a123", and it's basicaly more power, with longer runtime at lighter wieght. Supposedly safer too. Sounds prety good doesn't it? It might just be true!

And to the product website: http://www.a123systems.com/html/home.html

Supposedly Some companies like DeWalt have allready started using this.

My only question is: how much does it cost, and when do we get a Steadicam friendly battery that uses it?

Well spotted Mikko. Exciting developments indeed. Pity they're a privately owned company - I'd be buying shares right now!

Wow, sounds brilliant !

Especially the fact that it charges at 90 % in 5 minutes !

But man this is certainly gonna be expensive !

And probably won't be available for at least another year, if not more... I mean, with A/B, Pag or Sony mounts...

Hi Mark. Have you had any luck finding things you like. Suggest you look for parts that can update with you.

That means a full feature arm and vest. Derrick has had model 3s in pretty close to your price range. Havent seen anything for sale

just recently will keep you in mind. I'm building an upgrade kit for the sleds to move toward an XCs type rig. Glad to send you somthing if

you think it might be interesting. Model 3s are old tech but will work with the full range of cameras. Good luck finding the right thing.
