Roman Aujon
Hey everyone! I am new to this forum so thank you for all the content you guys built up over the years! I just bought a Flyer LE with AB mount and I would like to convert it to V-lock. What would be the best way to achieve that? I've been looking online but can't find a V-lock bracket for sale.... and i'm not sure of how smart it would be to get those adaptor plates... PS. If somebody is interested in trading a AB mount for a V-lock.... Thank you all!

Roman Aujon
I see. Thanks man! So did you end up getting it? How did it turn out for you?
ryan t jenkins
i ended up investing in a rig which was V-Mount since that was the battery investment I already had. I have heard good things about them though, and would buy them without concern if it was me. Maybe wait for some more responses here, but I think as far as what you are looking for they are a pretty safe bet.
Premium Members Michael Battistone Posted February 24, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 24, 2017 I agree, the IDX A-AB2E adaptor plates are very good and they work well. Even if you own batteries these plates are a good investment to have as a backup. The battery systems at rental houses often differ from one another, Panivision uses gold mount while Clairmont stocks IDX for example. Being able to fly both styles of battery gives you more options, and could help in a pinch. Mike
Keith Wood
I've got adapters to go from either to the other. More than once, that has saved me some serious problems in the field. If you can meet the weight range using the adapter, that's the way that I would go. Check Ebay.
Taylor Gentry
I also just purchased a used SteadiCam Flyer that is set up in V mount that I would prefer to be gold mount. Are the plates easy to swap? Does anyone know the exact gold mount plate I should order from B&H? There are several options. Is the wiring simple to connect?
