Premium Members JensSchroeder Posted February 27, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 27, 2017 Maybe you can ask Jorge Agero from Spain, he's an expert with steadicam + horses. Any one out ever attached a steadycam on a horse for diolouge work and close ups?
Brett Manyluk
I've heard a couple cautionary tales over the years regarding steadicam on horseback with endings like "and then we had to shoot the horse before phoning the insurance company". I advise caution and considerable research. Or better yet, alternate tools. The chance of it going sideways in a horrific way can be very high. Premium Members Mike McGowan SOC Posted March 14, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 14, 2017 I've done it. I did not hard mount it, just sat on the saddle with the rig on. That being said, I knew how to ride well before I ever tried to ride with a sled. I roller blade with my rig as well (but again I was doing flips over cars and going backwards down 100 stair long flights long before I ever tried it with a rig). I'd say if your super comfortable doing the thing without the rig, you can probably judge for your self if it's safe with rig.If your not, I agree, just find one of many alternate ways to do the shot. Premium Members Steve Acheson Posted March 15, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 15, 2017 I did a bunch of dialog with a grip trix cart.... Worked perfectly. Depending on the ground you are going over.
Keith Wood
I want to see the vest you'd put on a Clydesdale! Seriously, it wouldn't be too hard to modify a saddle horn with a post for hard mounting.
Premium Members Stefano Ben Posted March 19, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 19, 2017 This was originally made by a grip on location for Garrett Brown!!! 1
