Someone, I won't mention who (Charles Papert) suggested: "Rigging up a working Model 1with like an Arri 2C with the four baffles in the video tap, with an old type arm, and and have it available for people to try on with their vest."

Would love to have it at the SG Expo on June 4th if anyone has one or knows someone who would be willing to bring it and let the kids and ME try it out! :-)

Great idea Charles!

Good ole' Google search! :-)

YES!!!

So the shopping list would be:

- Model 1 (or 2)...probably best with modern battery mount, cant imagine there are any working NC12's at this point and monitor needs to fire up!

- 3A arm

- 2C, four baffles would be fantastic, 3 would be OK also. BL1 or 2 would be sort of hilarious. Eyepiece tap, preferably with tube camera (Jerry Holway may have).

- lens--anamorphic would be ideal, vintage of course to match the camera!

- long throat mag (I have the SL cine ARRI 3 mags but would be even better with original converted mag--not going roll film through, just has to be able to mount)

I have such a horrible memory as to who I sold it to, but my model 1 was tricked out but not too much, Had an AB plate on the back instead of the old battery caddy, and another AB plate underneath ( to run Arri3's in separate 12 volt runs for the HS base), then a leather wrapped handgrip, and the X and Y 3A top stage. Worked great!

I sold it Hmmmm. Maybe 15 years ago? Just the sled I believe...

My first shoot. Philadelphia Zoo. 1987 :)

Wish I had Old Smokey in original condition- it'd be a hoot to have to fly her now. I have an old-style long-throated magazine here, one of Larry McConkey's old set. Not an SL Cine or a SteadiMag. I'll be glad to send it to David for safe keeping before and after the day. Will that help?

Best to all,

Peter Abraham, S.O.C.
