Hi there guys , can some one help me figuring out how much I should pay an old Boland 6,5 LCD SD.?

I checked on the boland site but they only have the new versions.

thanks .

Joe,

If you can get your hands on the NON existing, 6.5" HD/SDI/NTSC Boland monitor we would all be impressed. Three years in the waitng for Mike to deliver on that 6.5" unit . . . .

Unfortunately for all of us he hasn't produced any that we know of . . . .his 8.4" units are out and are pretty awesome so I'm told.

If you know something we don't please enlighten us?!!

Hey Rob and all.

Just got an email back. They said that the 6.5 is in development currently, and is not yet a production unit.

Also they have made a change to the 8.4 inch monitor as well and its in engineering review right now. THey didnt say what the design change was. So i asked the question and i will let you know.

Availability on the 8.4 is 3-4 weeks, which sounds about normal.

i just had my 8.4 upgraded. if the upgrades i got are the same as the design changes you are refering to, they are: a small fan (think super small computer fan) and a larger power regulator (which allows the monitor to handle a greater range of power, i forget what the new range is but it's pretty large).

i also had an anton bauer plate mounted to the back of the monitor so i can power it seperatley. it will automatically pick which battery has the most juice and use that one (with no signal loss). it's pretty darn cool.

i've also mentioned to mike many times that i want a second boland and as i already have the 8.4 id like a 6.5 for my second one. the last time we talked (a week or so ago) he said that he would have something soon. im not sure what soon means but it sounded like it would be sooner than a long long time.

@joseph....... i think the 6.5 will be the same price or almost the same price as the 8.4 (3 grand). for what it's worth, i'd just go with the 8.4. ive been using mine now since october of last year and i havn't had one problem with it being too big. in fact, ive grown quite used to the big picture and love the shit out of it. ive used it in a huge varity of situations and it just works great. feel free to post or pm any specific questions you have about the monitor.

Hey Guys,

Not to knock Mike or Boland because Lord knows we all want one of these 6.5" monitors, but that is exactly the same thing they have said to me 2.5 years ago . . .and then again a year ago.

I met with Mike at NAB and he said maybe one day the 6.5" will be developed but the supply and demand is just not there to justify getting 10-50,000 LCD screens cut to that size. Honestly I hope this isn't the case and it gets made asap . . .

Good day, I spoke to Mike at Boland this past Friday. He promised to have the 6.5 ready for the NAB in April. Aloha, Ron
