Premium Members Aaron King Posted September 25, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 25, 2017 I have been using a Pro VZ Gimbal paired with the XCS Ergo handle for almost a year. I had been having issues achieving dynamic balance and performed the 90 degree test to see if the gimbal was centered. It appeared not to be. I sent it to Pro and Jack cleaned it and tested it for me. He said the issue was with the Ergo handle not being fully compatible, that the tolerances are different. He said that when paired back with a Pro handle everything tests out perfectly. Does anyone know more of this or had this experience? I haven't spoken to Gregg Bubb yet to get his take. Thanks. Thanks.Did you try adjusting the end caps on the yoke to center the gimbal in the forks? I spoke to Jack and he said they can't test that centering on the bench without a loaded up camera. I had sent my gimbal in for service and it was failing the 90 degree test when I got it back. A couple minutes adjusting the end caps and it was perfect, even on a light build. Premium Members Aaron King Posted September 26, 2017 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 26, 2017 I was under the impression that the Pro gimbal wasn't capable of being centered by the user, hence why I sent it in. If this is something field serviceable by me, then I might give that a shot once I check into it more. If it's anything like recentering a Tiffen gimbal, then I know the drill. Is your set up as well with the XCS Ergo handle? Using the Ergo was the reason given for my gimbal not appearing centered. Something about how the Ergo handle has play side to side. I don't have the ergo handle. The bearing is centered in the gimbal itself by pro but the gimbal between the forks is user adjustable using one of the tools they include with the rig.
