Premium Members Edward David Posted October 15, 2017 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 15, 2017 Hi guys been using the zephyr and the alexa mini is having shakes - vibrations - seeing if there is a baseplate to recommend for this? Or is it the Zephyr - that has some kind of design flaws? Is there an alternative in that pricerange that is better? Thanks!Ed
Lisa Sene
Hi Ed, Have you determined that your baseplate is causing the vibrations? You may simply need a stiffening system. Check out that section in the handbook and pick up some vectran. If memory serves, the Zephyr does not come standard with attachment points for vectran, so you will have to get creative about how you string it around the sled. Happy flying! Sam Bennett
Hi Ed! Old post I know but I'm in the exact same situation as you with my Zephyr. Did you ever get some vectran? If so, would love to know how/where you attached it to your Zephyr. Sam :)
Premium Members Kevin Jacobsen Posted August 8, 2019 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 8, 2019 what i do is use Peter Abraham's Zalex plate in conjuction with a 15mm rod bracket you can purchase at smallrig. I run the rods of the build into the 15mm bracket attached to the plate itself.. Good by shakes.
Premium Members Alan Greene Posted August 11, 2019 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 11, 2019 Hey Kevin, would that SmallRig part be one of these? https://www.smallrig.com/smallrig-15mm-rod-clamp-1266.html https://www.smallrig.com/smallrig-dual-15mm-rod-clamp-with-threads-1806.html https://www.smallrig.com/smallrig-super-lightweight-15mm-railblock-2pcs-pack-2061.html
