For those who know, this is a rare item, a clamshell (aka "watchman") Hi-8 and Video-8, Sony GV-A500E (PAL ONLY). ideal to replay your family tapes !
4" LCD screen
composite video + audio in/out - RCA/cinch connectors or S-VHS

BE AWARE: for those clients being in FRANCE:

this watchman can NOT read tapes being recorded in SECAM !

if you still have your camcorder, check if the s/n is followed by a P (= PAL), a S (=SECAM only), or a P/S (=PAL and SECAM)

You must be sure that your tapes are PAL otherwise you won't be able to play them back !

You know it, I am straight forward, it happened to me once, and the client had to return the item. That meant extra costs for both ...

From now on, I won't accept any return if your tapes are not playing back ...

A tape which I recorded recently on this watchman will be delivered, showing that recording and playback are perfectly working.

Powered by battery (NPF type) or on mains power supply, such as the ones you were using with your camcorder !
