The great Exodus of the Wave1

I was simply wondering why so much of Wave1 users are selling them back?

*Ok, if you're a proud Trinity owner or even a lucky one who got his M1 Volt recently, I totally get it... but I highly doubt it's the case.

I was considering getting one myself (before investing in the big boys' toy Trinity) but since I never worked with the Wave1 (yes, I tried it more than once but only in trade shows ) and seeing so many ops getting rid of it, doubts are settling in.

Any answers?

Some people may be going with the Universal M1-Volt. Tom Wills I believe has both systems and would be able to say more about the differences. I think you wait 6 months and you may not find another used Wave on the market.

I also think the Volt has a lower weight capacity, by maybe 10lb. The Wave can take 55lb camera load, whereas I thought I saw some specs that said the volt would take 45lb. Not sure if I am right, or if that changed.

I'd hardly call it a "great Exodus" considering they have sold hundreds of them. Yes, I have seen a handful of them come up for sale recently. I know of two cases where it was simply because the operators were not using them (both of these guys are seasoned vets). Other people? I'm guessing they bought the M1V, but who knows???? I still have one and am not selling it any time soon. It works very well and I have no interest in attaching a jib like device to my body (as much respect as I have for the Trinity).

Keep in mind just a little note!

The Wave is an accessorie which can be used on any device to stabilize the horizon not only on the Steadicam. It is a very helpfull device also for Handheld, Shouldermount, Easyrig, Twister, Cars, Boats, Remote Heads etc.

Operators love it and we do not know even one person who sold the Wave cause of bad function etc.

The Steadicam Volt is a more than great device and a must but it is fixed on your Steadicam.
