I had two choices, I could’ve added the volt to my pro Gimbal, or the way I decided to go, I bought the M1 Gimbal for Pro. The M1 Gimbal has a sleeve or insert to make it fit the 1.5 centre post, and the Gimbal handle fits the pro arm posts. I can change the inserts at a later date if I want to go to an M1 sled. I think the only non tiffen Gimbal that can be adapted to the volt is the GPI PRO but you should confirm that with Tiffen. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The hole in the handle made specifically for PRO sized posts is stupidly 90 degrees off from where the holes are drilled in the PRO arm posts and PRO gimbal handles.This is where you might place a retention pin to keep the arm post in place if turned upside down. Brad Smith Posted April 6, 2019 Report Share Posted April 6, 2019 Thanks Lawrence, the hole is not only at right angles, it’s closer to the end of the post. It was an easy fix, I took it to my regular Grip/Machinist and he drilled new holes for me. I’ve kept all of my Pro arm post and Low Mode Brackets. Great, Jerry! Is it possible to make a shorter gimbal handle? I hold the handle at the curve which makes it difficult to reach the tilt lock button with my index finger in mid-shot without releasing my grip and influencing the frame. It's something you'd have to work out with your machinist as I suspect the Tiffen engineers are up to their eyeballs in other projects. I bought the 1.5'' volt gimbal complete assembly and , Lemac , the australian stiffen agent fitted it to my sled , replacing the mkv gimbal . I am now using it on the last few weeks of our series the "Voice " . Ive been operating for 34 years , and admit it was a shock at first to get a grasp of the volt and its brain . Will certainly keep trialling various options it offers , but upon watching the last 2 shows back , am very happy with the results . As most of the hosting are on steady , and shots in every vocal number , we get plenty of use , but the shots could've been any more rock solid level . Can guarantee in every show , at least one number needs to be in low mode , and the switch is less than a minute . Thats handy. After operating for so long , change can be difficult , but so far , Im only more excited to get out and keep putting the volt across more gigs that I do 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
