Adjustable monitor bracket front to back?

I have a PRO with the fixed monitor bracket (I can unclamp it and put it higher or lower but I more or less consider it fixed).

Anyone know of a monitor bracket that adjusts fore and aft? A bracket that you can fix to the clamp and adjust fore/aft and up/down would be really slick.

Hi Dan,

I have a spare Bracket if you want to play around with it. Specially with your Transvideo LCD it can be very beneficial to be able to pull out the monitor for (dynamic) balance, viewability, etc.

I can only speak for the XCS one. Greg has Post clamps for most commercial Center Posts and can make any spacer rings required. Also the rods are cut to your lengths specs no extra cost. I saw them as short as 3 inches and as long as 10 or 12 inches.

I know he has some rods in stock... I bend a couple...

Fly safe,

I previously used the Pro mount.

I also have the XCS monitor mount. Greg's mount is super rigid and has little movement even with a heavy CRT monitor extended all the way out.

This is wonderful in wind!!!! I put the monitor all the way out and two batterys up and the batterys adjusted all the way back..... I think of it as monitor antlers.

Also Greg has got great knowledgeable personal service!.

Erwin,

I was thinking of upgrading to Gregg's monitor bracket (I have a couple of the old one's) and I'd love to check yours out. There used to be some vibration when using heavier monitors -- this problem must have been addressed or I would have heard complaints.

You should also check out Chrosziel "Ted Churchill" bracket as I have found this to be the best bracket thus far. I have seen/ used pretty much all of them talked about and this one you can basically move the monitor anywhere you want-up/down/fore/aft. on this banana shaped bracket. Hard to explain but worth a look.

Ron,

"There used to be some vibration when using heavier monitors -- this problem must have been addressed or I would have heard complaints."

The only vibration I have ever noticed with my XCS bracket turned out to be between the plate attached to the bottom of the TB-6 and the monitor arm (I have an earlier style TB-6 where this plate only attaches via two screws). I fixed the problem with JB Weld. Since this time, Tom Gleason has come up with a more elegant solution: http://www.cinewidgets.com/ (look under products for the "TB-6 Stabilizing plate.")

Of course, Greg Bubb makes his monitor brackets in any length you want so I suppose if you had very long rods and extended them all the way, you could get vibration this way too.

Cheers.

I have Tom's TB-6 plate (Kenji and I were the first to go to him to make them for us back in '99) it solves alot of problems. The vibration I'm talking about is the piece of alum that spans the two 1/2 inch horizontal posts (where the tb-6 spud connects). The last time I tried it -- admittedly several years ago -- there was alot of flex in this piece. Put a TB-6/PRO monitor on there, give the top rear of the monitor a light knock, and watch it quiver like Tilman's legs at the end of his Russian Ark shot. I imagine the part in question has long ago been beefed up by Gregg -- I know how he is about bad vibrations!

looking forward to meeting up with Erwin this weekend for some TB-6 knocking!

thanks for posting the pdf Marcin, that's pretty funky...or "sexy" as uncle Teddy used to call things. Quincy and Marcin, what monitors are you using with this bracket? I'm amazed that this dainty looking thing would hold a 6 lb. TB-6 out at full extension without slipping/vibration. I could see using it with a 2 to 3 lb. lcd though. I'd love to see one on person, looks interesting.

anyone here in Los Angeles using this?
