You'll be able to hold onto everything else. We are looking into options on the east coast to have a place people can send their boxes to be updated. So that should help save a little bit of time for folks on the east coast. Hi Tyson, As you know, I live in Norway, but right now I don’t care too much about upgrading it, because it functions well as it is. I don’t know if this is my mind or not, but if I push the button two times rapidly, it stays in position and doesn’t “sinck”. If you get what I mean. I guess some day soon the techs at Hofmann (Sweden) will be able to solve the upgrade problem, as this is getting a more known issue. Now, stay safe, and we’ll be in touch! All the best, Patrick

All the best, Patrick Hello Patrick, My apologies I didn't realize you were from Norway. I'd double check with Tiffen International as I understand they can do the firmware updates. I'm not sure what they have in place with our other dealers. Pressing two times rapidly can help make it stick. I know of a few people who have tried that technique or a few others. I find some people it works for them while others it doesn't. I believe it has something to do with your operating style on what works best for you. Hopefully this whole thing will be over soon and we can all get back to normal! Take care of yourself and be safe!
Katerina Kallergis
I am very sorry for my delayed response. I will be much more active on the forum and have found a way to make it quick access from my phone. Something I use far more often than my computer. To your question, I much prefer having the gimbal as close to the top stage as possible. Try it both ways. Do the same shot and same movements, especially a big tilt, to see for yourself what you like. I believe you will come to like having the gimbal closer to the top stage. Much more control this way. Less chance of vibration from outside forces and a smaller arc on your tilts. Now there may be times that need to have the longer post. For example, I am very short and it would be another way to get the lens higher. I hope this helps you. Although I am sure Garrett has already explained it much better than I have. Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted June 5, 2020 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2020 I will echo what Kat said GB suggested. I have been flying the rig a while and for all those years one of the main quests has been to keep the rig short, and the gimbal as high on the post as possible. This desire is why some rigs/features are chosen over others and even one of the main concepts that some sleds are designed around. The usual trade-offs and compromises abound as they do with everything.
