Ali Moore
Hi all, Im just wondering if anyone with a volt has an special techniques for testing dynamic balance with the control/power cable from the volt plugged in? It obviously has a limited amount of spin before the cable gets snagged.... Ive been doing static balance with it unplugged, then dynamic balance with it unplugged, then plugging it back in and adjusting the static balance again. Is this right? Or is there something really obvious I’m missing? Thanks in advance Ali
Premium Members Paulius Kontijevas Posted February 21, 2020 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 21, 2020 Sounds like you do what I do. I'll balance the sled without the cable entirely. Get it into dynamic balance, attach the cable to the gimbal and the stage, pull camera aft just ever so slightly, and make sure my side/side's good as well. At this point, I don't even bother with adjusting anything else or even do a spin test. I feel like that cable could get tangled and snag on something if I do.
Ali Moore
Thanks Paulius, good to know I’m not doing something random.
