Premium Members Lars Erik Posted March 5, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 5, 2008 My RED shoot is coming up soon. And I look back with horror at the jobs were I have had to do fast paced shots with video camera plates. (widgety, invested in Chrosziel plate now, which is a large improvement. Nothing near Arri plates though) Anyway, my question is this; anyone had any bad experience with the RED camera plate yet? Or is it all good? Premium Members Markus Rave Posted March 6, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 6, 2008 I have talked to a production nearby and they encountered the plate becoming wobbly after temperature change. The production manager thought this might be due to the material they use to fix the plate. So maybe you just keep this in mind when you mount. Check the baseplate. Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted March 6, 2008 Moderators Report Share Posted March 6, 2008 Lars, Depending on the configuration (i.e. Matte Box type, etc) you can mount a Steadicam plate directly to the camera body via the usual 3/8-16.
