Mitch Gross
Anyone in the New York area who might like to see the new Aaton XTR-Prod II should contact me offlist. We have it at Abel Cine Tech for the next week or so before it goes back to France. Production models roll out in the Fall. It is very Steadicam friendly, with a new motor mount arm, various additional power and video ports and a fantastic new progressive scan tap that blows the pants off Arri's. Andrey Yazydzhi
Beautifull camera the 416. What about the Low mode? Best, Gus. For Low mode Arri 416 needs special bracket the same like Arri 235 option.
bobgilles
The integrated FIZ makes the 416/Flyer combo and realistic option for Primetime Network stuff, Garrett has got to be stoked to see this camera!!! Can you just see a Flyer as A cam on a big show? quote name='Kareem La Vaullée' date='May 1 2006, 03:23 PM' post='17276'] It's the antenna of the integrated FI+Z system included in the "plus" version of the 416, that integrated receiver/controller will work with Arri's WRS hand-unit. Premium Members Kareem La Vaullee Posted September 8, 2006 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 8, 2006 Gus & Andrey, You don't need the special bracket for the Low-mode when using the 416, the standard handle is flat on top, big and sturdy with threaded holes, that's what I used to put my Antlers ( have a look here) Bob, Yes, without the onboard battery, powered by the 24V version of the Flyer it would really be a nice setup. (by the way your BBCode tags are broken for the quote in your post) And now for something new here is the fresh Aaton Super 16 camera, the one that was until today called Aaton XTRProd2 (see my first message) The camera is revealed today and it's name is "Xterà" Here's a pic : http://www.aaton.com/ I'm going to see this new camera tomorrow on Aaton's booth at IBC, Cheers, K. Premium Members Mark Karavite Posted April 25, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 25, 2007 Hey Kareem, I have a couple questions about the 416. I have an upcoming job with it for the 1st time. 1) Does the on board battery get in your way? I expect I would leave it on for the weight. 2) Did you find the weight too light? I have always found light cameras to misbehave a bit, as compared to heavier bodies. I'm sure the antlers helped this in your photos, but did you feel you needed to add weight when not using the antlers? I have kept a sliding baseplate on an SR2 before for this reason. 3) How long into a take did you notice the coaxial mag affecting your horizon? If any other operators have 416 tips / experiences to share, that would be great.
