How many of you can find old Steadicam stuff in the closet like this?

Evolution of Steadicam test fixtures from the mid 70’s through Steadicam III.

The first one was used from early Steadicam. The second was the one I built in order to build and test the Steadicam II electronics. The third was for the Steadicam III circuit boards.

I've given away a bunch of very old bits. I used to have the steel ball-socket and T-Handle grips for the Model I Vehicle Mount Kit. You know-- Sitting down and wearing and aiming with the normal posts removed? That came with my rig when I bought it from Ruxton, LTD. in Burbank.

Put it together once. So I'd know how. Since Garrett told me at my workshop at house house NOT to sit down while wearing a rig- and especially in a moving vehicle- it was an antique the day I got it.

Just about everything else went to others when I sold my Frankenrig Model IIA and bought the Master Series rig.

Terry that is really/cool! When I used to travel with my model2 I would disconnect the monitor (seitz made disconnects, idea from Larry) and slide out that same big ass circuitboard and carry them onto the plane with me in a little pelican. I was so paranoid of the monitor or focus tube being broken while the baggage guys threw it around. Can you imagine trying to carry something looking like that onboard these days?!

When I would travel to the workshop, back in the early days. I would have wires, cutters, a small soldering iron and batteries in a carry-on bag. These days I would be called a terrorist! Times have changed!

I still have the Moviecam Super Service Manual in my file cabinet. I do have an odd assortment of stuff. The Academy came by the shop to pick up the early model Steadicam schematics that I had filed away for the last forty years. Garrett told me that they have the Steadicam that I show in my forum picture.
