Fitness Tracker/Heart Rate Monitor while Operating

Hey Friends! I was curious if people use fitness trackers or heart rate monitor to keep an eye on their HR in between shots? I'm looking for one for cycling and the thought crossed my mind that it could serve another purpose. I'd love recommendations for fitness trackers/HRM if y'all use them!

I remember when the Fitbit was all the rage, and now everyone has integrated step trackers on their various smart devices (phones, smart watches, etc). I also recall that the step count and calorie counts are, for the most part, completely overstated by the respective devices.

I had thought about creating a device that worked with my docking fork to run a timer whenever my sled wasn't docked, so I had a rough idea of how much time I'd spent wearing the rig each day. Ultimately, both step tracking and time-in-the-rig tracking became less interesting because, as David implies above, it doesn't change the shot, it doesn't contribute anything significant, and it doesn't serve as grounds to increase my invoice.

The dock timer is an interesting idea. That could be a fun experiment to learn about possible shot efficiency, or like you said, just how much time you actually spent in the rig. HR monitor wouldn't change anything shot wise; it would just be for personal use to better learn where my resting HR is at and where my active HR is at during the day.

From Ted’s manual of style...always a great idea to charge per minute, or even per foot moved. More for stairs. They can’t afford low mode.
