Erez Erlichman
Hello all. I'm starting to use and learn how to operate the steadycam. I have the option to buy a used steadycam in great condition. I'm using my sony fs5 with the shogun inferno with the set of veydra mini primes (25,50,85) most of the times and the sigma 16/1.4. I'm filming documentry, short scripted segmants for online series, corporate and music videos. My Current budget allows me to buy a used flyer or pilot in my country. It would be great if you could assist me with this matter. Thanks, Erez
Moderators Louis Puli SOC Posted June 27, 2020 Moderators Report Share Posted June 27, 2020 Hi Erez I would buy the flyer over the pilot for several reasons . 1. The Arm will carry a larger range of cameras . 2. The vest is far more substantial and better fitting then the pilot . 3. The sled, the top stage ,dovetail plate is far better then the pilot large plate. All considered the Flyer for me is a more versatile rig and you would use it longer then the Pilot . And Please it's Steadicam No Y ok All the best Louis Puli .
Curtis Tate
I just found a Steadicam Pilot that's been stowed away for many years. I want to try to revive it for TV studio usage. I have the vest, arm, and backpack case, but we are missing...all of THE SLED and weights. My question: Is the AERO sled compatible with the Pilot's stabilizing arm?
