Premium Members Joseph Hartzler Posted August 20, 2020 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 20, 2020 Hello all! I've been having some interest in buying a Betz universal steadicam plate but wanted to hear what other ops have as their go-to camera plate for the typical builds (Alexa Mini, Red, Blackmagic and so on)? Primarily been using my PRO Arri/Pana plate on my DB2. Thank you all for any input/advice on this matter! Hope you all stay safe and may your face shields stay fog-less ha, Joe
Premium Members Greg Johnson Posted August 26, 2020 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 26, 2020 Hey, I have two standard 9" Pro plates and the cinematic precision alexa plate and haven't found a need for another plate yet with my DB2. The only one I could think to be useful would be the Zalex long plate for unique long builds or the xcs sliding plate for the wave.

I've had my eye on the cinematic precision one as well. I was wondering if you have the vertical or horizontal displacement Pro plate? And if you find one of the displacements more helpful (kind of the same question haha)? thank you again! Joe
Premium Members Greg Johnson Posted September 6, 2020 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 6, 2020 I have the vertical displacement plates, I haven't used the horizontal ones but as long as the camera is built out decently centered I don't see a need for it. but I could be wrong since I don't have experience with it
Premium Members Matthias Biber Posted September 8, 2020 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 8, 2020 I use the cam-jam railway plate system. With 15 mm rod in the front and back. Truely universal for all cameras. The rods are at the standard height with alexa mini and sony venice. With the adapter for BP-8 bridgplate also the 19mm rods are at the right position. So you can swith to the fluidhead really quick. Also if you change from primes to zoom lens! Nice feature are the self aligning screws! You can find all details here: https://shop.cam-jam.de/product/railway-plate-alexa-mini-package/
