Dovetail Sliding Forward on Zephyr

Hello - I'm brand new to steadicam operating in Seattle and have been training on the Zephyr. Last night when I was rebalancing I was adjusting drop time and noticed that the dovetail plate was sliding forward even though the quick release lock was locked tight. The weird thing is that it doesn't slide back, only forwards, and would only slide when the rig was horizontal.

Has anyone else experienced their plate sliding? Not sure what the issue is exactly and I'm weary to try and over-tighten the quick release screw. Any information is helpful!

You might need to screw tighten the plate or try installing the plate in the reverse direction.

The area contacting the dovetail (the small silver wedge) might have gotten too smooth and the friction is not enough.

I had the same issue when I accidentally crashed my rig (installing the pin on the first arm loosely which caused the the base of the arm to slip and bend under the weight)

For now I have to tighten it very hard to get a secure grip
