Premium Members Dale Vance Jr. Posted January 6, 2021 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 6, 2021 Hi there, I was wondering if anybody was using this combination, OR if your using the Tiffen Monitor Bracket with another monitor....... I just started this setup, and I am having issues with the tightness/friction of adjusting the monitor. If I tighten the 1/4 20 to make it "firm" it either tightens on itself and binds, or becomes totally loose causing the monitor to not hold its tilt angle. I've contacted tiffen about this, and they are looking into it. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue..... if so, did you find a solution? I currently have the nylon washer supplied by tiffen between the monitor and the bracket, and only the metal bolt attaching it from the outside of the bracket. Thanks in advance for any advice. Premium Members Sebastien Audinelle Posted January 7, 2021 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 7, 2021 Hi Dale, I have the same problem and I contacted Tiffen about it but at this time they don't seem to have a solution for the SmallHD 703 with their bracket. For now Its tight on mine and I just adjust the yoke if needed. I know that doesn't help you much but now you know that you are not the only one dealing with this issue. Premium Members Dale Vance Jr. Posted January 7, 2021 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted January 7, 2021 I was able to fix the issue using some pieces I had for the cam-jam smallHD 703 bracket adaptor. Jerry, does your solution work with the mounting brackets from smallHD? my solution does not allow me to use the smallHD sunshade that attach via the smallHD bracket. I used the cam-jam bracket. I'd much rather use the original brackets if possible. Thank you .
Premium Members Jerry Holway Posted January 8, 2021 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 8, 2021 No- it mounts directly to the small HD....
Premium Members Jerry Holway Posted January 9, 2021 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 9, 2021 Correction- My pivots do mount to the SmallHD bracket (I forgot how it worked). The design makes it so that tilting the monitor does not try to rotate the tensioning screw. It's also about as thin as it gets. Slightly different versions of the pivots are available for TV logic, Stargate, and BON monitors to Tiffen's universal bracket. And I've made some pivots for different Tiffen fixed width monitor brackets, like the one on my trusty old Ultra2.
Premium Members Keith Durham Posted November 29, 2021 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 29, 2021 Hi, The picture shows a Feelworld monitor. Just interested to know if these monitors are any good? I am off topic but I would appreciate hearing what you think.
