Premium Members Kareem La Vaullee Posted May 25, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 25, 2006 "I pity the fool who slanders my Master" I am not slandering, it's just my taste, especially when like in your logo the gimbal looks like it's touching the monitor... BTW, I kinda feel a little like I have been sent to the sin bin, do I have to stay in the "off topic" or can I play with the other staedicam issues. I promise to behave...... :P For me you are very welcome here... The only thing that would make me buy a Steadicam T-shirt would be a very classic and classy thing like this drawing : But you would have to ask Garret Brown's permission

Premium Members David Allen Grove Posted May 25, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 25, 2006 I want a t-shirt with MY (ex)avatar.. the only catch is, it has to be animated to get the full effect of the cow bell!

"I've got a fever, and the only cure is more cowbell!" Peace, Afton

You would need a shutter in sync with David's rotation speed like in the Zoetrope ;)
Premium Members Jamie Hammond Posted May 25, 2006 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 25, 2006 Better still, make a big cowbell shaped T-shirt and just bash yourself away, on set, in front of everybody. Now thats advertising......
Premium Members David Allen Grove Posted May 25, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 25, 2006 You guys are cracking me up! With your ideas, I'm either going to wind up in the looney bin or the hopsital with head injuries! ha. :o
Premium Members Kareem La Vaullee Posted May 25, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 25, 2006 Nice one Kareem, Hello Chris, how do you do ! It's from the original Steadicam Patent (I downloaded and examined hundreds of patents, if you are looking for one just ask, I have them converted in a nice PDF format) I had to clean it using a Wacom tablet and Painter I'd also take a T-shirt with my avatar! Almost impossible to find informations on the net about your Avatar's author : Otto Maximilian Umbehr Kareem "Searching Machine and Clickable link Master" La Vaullée Edit : changed the link to the Steadicam Patent's image to a better one
Premium Members chris fawcett Posted May 26, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2006 Kareem, Good to hear from you again. I hope you are as irrepressibly well as ever. My girlfriend picked up that poster on a visit to Berlin. Otto Umbehr (Umbo) is a shadowy figure at best. He seems to show up mostly in his connection with the Bauhaus, though you can find other of his images with a google image search: Umbehr. So you pdf'd all the Steadipatents into single pdfs, or one BIG pdf? Now that would be fun. Chris
Moderators Louis Puli SOC Posted May 27, 2006 Moderators Report Share Posted May 27, 2006 Hi everyone I have always loved the french director Abel Gance (Napoleon) quote "The tripod was a set of crutches supporting a lame imagination' and the other one "The tripod that bleeds" Louis Puli B)
