Steadicam Workshops

Hello everyone!

I’m brand new to the forum, and I’m super stoked to be a part of this community. I’m somewhat green with film in general, but I’ve been practicing some Steadicam stuff with the Zephyr vest and sled on an A30 arm. I’m interested in doing a workshop and I’m stuck trying to decide between the AbelCine Silver workshop and the SOA workshop. What are the pros and cons of each workshop, if anyone has any experience with either/both?

Thank you all in advance, and happy flying,

Corey.

I just got back from the SOA gold workshop.  Well worth the investment.  The Gold workshop will cover everything from the silver one, but then goes beyond what you would learn in the silver workshop with lots of work in more advanced shots

SOA workshop in CA was great! Seven full days of immersion, and we got to practice on full-size rigs as well as vehicle mounts towards the end… i’ve heard AbelCine workshops are led by some of the same supporting instructors from SOA’s (for example Nic Somera), but the rigs used are the smaller ones like the Zephyr, etc. as well as the curriculum being much more condensed and rushed as AbelCine Silver maxes out at 3 days (I believe) rather than 5 or 7 like SOA’s.

Hello all,, does anyone know of any workshops coming up in the Seattle area? I am brand new to the group and steadicam. I just bought my first (entry level) rig, a flycam setup... I mainly work in sports, I am very excited about this new step in my career

Thanks

Brett
