Cinegear Steadicam Op. Get Together @ Gladstones

Hello all, over the past couple days after talking to David Grove, Dan Kneece and

my wife, we decided we need to have some limits on how many people come.

Gladstones of course, would like to know for staffing concerns.

These Steadicam Operators get togethers started back in 2000 (if I remember correctly)

with just a handful of us operators, I think it was about 8-10 of us, since then it has grown to become huge amounts of people including assistants, grips, electrics, newbies, and aspiring operators as well.

But sadly due to limited space and accomodations at the restaurant, we need to get control of

how many and who come. These get togethers and meetings are intended to get STEADICAM OPERATORS and manufacturers together from time to time so we can talk and enjoy each others company since we rarely get to work or see each other.

Therefore, again, due to space availability we are asking that ONLY the following attend:

1. Experienced full-time working steadicam operators

2. Manufacturers of steadicam gear or parts for use with the steadicam

Please do not invite your assistants, friends, and other crew members you see at Cinegear to Gladstones.

We just don't have the room for a hundred people to show up.

We're really sorry to have to say this, but again, if you are an aspiring operator (but currently working as an assistant, grip, electric, boom operator, PA, etc) or have recently bought a rig but still don't work as a full time steadicam operator, we ask that you meet and mingle with all the

other operators AT Cinegear.

Again, we're all really sorry about that, maybe the aspiring, wannabe, and newbie operator crowd

can organize another post-Cinegear get together at another facility.

Thanks for understanding. Please don't flame me for this, several people consulted and we all agreed

and I'm trying to be as diplomatic about it as possible.

For a more accurate head count to give the restaurant and to have a list of names as to who is

coming to Gladstone's and meets the above 2 criteria, please RSVP here so I can give Gladstone's (my wife)

a more accurate number of how many to expect.

If you are unsure if you'll be able to make it, give us a % of the chance you'll be there.

Thanks, I'll start below.

Another note:

Many experienced, veteran steadicam operators DO NOT visit this board either, if you

speak to one of them between now and June 24th feel free to mention the get together to

them. Ask them if they want to or will come, if they say yes, please let us know by

responding for them here.
