Premium Members Jason Williams Posted June 8, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 8, 2006 Hey all, I took my EFP into the guys at MK-V as I was looking at upgrading the EFP post .... it was causing me problems as it's (1) too short, (2) gets compressed with my new monitor arm and (3) just isn't very strong or rigid. They've come up with a neat little set of mods to really improve the performance of the sled - and giving the ability to add a carbon fibre posts. I grabbed some pics today of the prototype upgrades, and after flying it again, I can't believe how much of an improvement there is in the sled!! The old post has been removed and they have used my sled as a "guinea pig" to try this new mod out. A new upgrade bracket fits inside the old post housing and you can now attach a much longer and stronger carbon fibre posts. Not only that but dynamic balance is much better to achieve now following a new mod on the base, which allows the battery base to slide on bars. This is also compatible with the Lite Battery System, There is a further upgrade possible to the MK-V D-Box. The whole sled is so much more rigid now and rock solid, no play in anything, or any shake/shuddering (I did find some with the old post). It's so much easier to shoot with the mods added, I can't believe the difference it makes, but it's truly awesome - if you don't believe me, feel free to come test mine!! I would recommend anyone with an EFP to upgrade theirs as I can't believe the massive change in operating, if you want any more info, give the guys at MK-V a holler @ info@mk-v.com. Brett Manyluk
Very Nice. Kudos to Howard for a simple but effective upgrade. So the question remains: how many spacebucks did it run you? Brett Manyluk
